There are many ways to build a house and just as many ways to build an energy-efficient, sustainable house.
At Hanse Haus, the decision to build wooden prefabricated houses was made many years ago, when the small carpentry company Hanse Fertighaus Bau was established in the Hanseatic city of Lübeck in 1929.
Since then, we have continued to develop our construction technology, incorporate our experience and, for example, further improve the wall structures used in our wood panel construction.
We believe that machines can never replace know-how and genuine craftsmanship acquired over years, but only supplement them.
This is why we still have real professionals working for us who have learned their craft from the ground up.
From planning to prefabrication and assembly to interior design, we can cover every trade with our own employees. And to ensure it stays that way in the future, we train the new generation of employees ourselves.
Proven quality offers safety
As part of our quality control, our exterior walls – including windows and doors – undergo environmental chamber tests. Over a period of several weeks, the walls are exposed to strongly fluctuating temperatures – with high plus and low sub-zero temperatures, as well as multiple rain simulations.
So you can be sure that the individual building components can withstand a wide variety of climatic conditions and are well prepared for wind and weather.
We also rely on the tried and tested in our choice of manufacturing location: all walls, ceiling and roof elements are prefabricated exclusively in our factory in Oberleichtersbach in Lower Franconia.
We constantly hear and read about how we have to develop more alternative energy sources and rely on energy-saving heating technologies.
At Hanse Haus we start thinking about this one step earlier. Before we think about how to use energy in the house in the most efficient way possible, we make sure that you need as little precious energy in the first place. Because the cheapest energy is that which isn’t consumed at all.
“The stronger the thermal insulation of a house, the better the heat is kept in the rooms.”
So less energy is used for reheating.
In order to minimise heat loss through the building envelope, we rely on all-round thermal insulation that surrounds all exterior walls, the roof, the windows and doors, and if necessary the basement or the floor slab.
Our ThermoEfficiency walls combine high-strength construction with excellent thermal insulation. The wooden stud walls are glued under pressure with high-quality OSB boards using hot-melt adhesive. This is how the sheeting is made for the timber frame construction.
Your benefit: You can attach shelves or cabinets weighing more than 250 kg anywhere you like, to any wall or in any room, with standard screws. Without any drilling or dowels.
The clear room height (finished height) on the ground, upper and attic floors is approx. 2.50 m, measured from the upper edge of the finished floor to the lower edge of the finished ceiling. Larger room heights such as 2.70 m are available on request ex works.
- As standard, walls are suitable for building KfW Efficiency House 40 Plus homes.
- The U-value in spaces between studs is only 0.116 W/m²K (complete wall only 0.131 W/m²K)
- Use of high-quality solid construction timber, planed and technically dried for natural wood protection
- The factory-applied reinforcement plaster starts protecting against the effects of the weather during installation
- Seamless exterior plaster, which is applied only after the house has been assembled on site, ensures a high-quality look to the home’s exterior
- We will be happy to offer you alternative façade designs such as brick facings or wooden formwork on request
Do the numbers and values mean nothing to you, and are the technical details hard to grasp?
Come to one of our show homes in your area and convince yourself of the characteristics and advantages of the wood panel construction successfully used by Hanse Haus.
Our consultants are also available to answer your questions and for non-binding consultations at our Show Home Park or in a show home in your area.
They can also provide information on additional soundproofing with Knauf solid building panels or diamond hard gypsum panels, high-quality thermal insulation composite systems and acoustic panels by Sto, as well as the best Braas insulation and roof tiles.
No other factor in a house has such a decisive impact on low energy consumption as the building envelope.
In addition to the very good insulation properties of our walls, the roof structures at Hanse Haus also ensure excellent thermal insulation.
They not only keep heat inside the house in winter but also protect it from excessive outside heat in the summer. The thermal insulation of our standard roof structure fulfils the requirements for the KfW Efficiency House 40 Standard.
All roof trusses by Hanse Haus are built by carpenters as solid wood structures. In our factory, we use state-of-the-art equipment and qualified carpenters to ensure the highest accuracy of fit and quality.
Trusses are made of solid, chamber-dried coniferous wood with planed solid structural timber and, depending on structural requirements, partially of laminated timber elements. Visible rectangular supports and outdoor beams (e.g. for entrance canopies, loggias or carports) are made of high-quality laminated timber. Outside, all visible components receive a protective coating according to the sample.
On a tour of our factory in Oberleichtersbach in Lower Franconia, you can experience our high-quality production facility in person.
Are you interested in detailed information on roof structures, for example on how a pitched roof is built compared to a hipped, pent or flat roof? Or on the insulation we use in the roofs of our prefabricated houses?
Perhaps you still don't fully understand everything about our wall structures.
Contact us. Our highly-trained consultants will be happy to provide you with information about the construction technology we employ. You will also find detailed information on the wood panel construction, insulation etc. in our current description of construction services and fixtures, which we will gladly send you.
We also use high-quality building materials for our ceiling structures, such as highly resilient OSB boards and a layer of beams made of chamber-dried solid construction timber.
This achieves the necessary fire resistance, sound insulation and impact sound levels.
