Hanse houses fulfil the requirements for the Quality Seal for Sustainable Buildings (QNG)
On 20 February 2024, the Climate-Friendly New Construction (KFN) house building subsidy was relaunched as a sub-programme of the Federal Subsidy for Efficient Buildings (BEG). It comprises two funding levels with up to €100,000 or €150,000 in low-interest loans per residential unit. The prerequisite for the highest subsidy level is the Quality Seal for Sustainable Buildings (QNG), which you can achieve when building a house with Hanse Haus. As part of the second current subsidy programme, Home Ownership for Families (WEF), certification with the QNG also increases the possible low-interest loan amount.

The conditions for the state quality seal are defined by the Federal Ministry of Construction. There are uniform standards in two requirement levels: QNG-PLUS and QNG-PREMIUM. The QNG is proof that a building fulfils certain requirements with regard to ecological, socio-cultural and economic qualities.
The general requirements of the QNG are covered by our DGNB certification. Special requirements of the QNG are:
- Life cycle assessment: specified values for primary energy consumption and CO2 emissions
- Sustainable raw material and material extraction
- Avoidance of harmful substances in building materials
An external audit takes place after the work is completed to ensure that the seal is awarded: the fulfillment of the requirements will be checked on the basis of the completed planning and construction processes and on the basis of selected qualities.
