Taking responsibility

Taking responsibility means more than just making a contribution to environmental protection. Social responsibility also plays an important role – and that starts with our employees, who represent Hanse Haus. Our aim is to organise working conditions in such a way that everyone feels comfortable and is happy to give their best. Through offers such as Girls' Day, school class visits to our company and our practice-oriented training programme, we actively promote the skilled trades and contribute to the development of our region.

In 2023, Hanse Haus can once again look forward to receiving the highest honour in the "Großer Preis des Mittelstandes", one of the most prestigious business awards in Germany.

After being honoured as a finalist in 2015 and as an award winner in Bavaria in 2016, we received the national Premier finalist award in 2018 and the national Premier award in 2019. We received the Premier badge of honour in 2021 and 2023 for our many years of impressive performance.

Focus on our team

We have been creating and securing jobs and apprenticeships since 1929 - around 1,000 employees now work at Hanse Haus, many of whom have been with us for many years. 

In order to continuously develop each and every one of them and us as a company, we attach great importance to individual further training. The average number of training hours per employee in 2022 was 10.2. 

Health and safety also play a key role. We use a TÜV-certified management system for health and safety in accordance with international standards and a management system for occupational health and safety certified by BG Bau. For example, the increased automation of processes in our production means that less heavy physical labour is required, which poses potential injury and health risks for our team.

Diversity and equal opportunities as a great strength

We are committed to equal opportunities and see the diversity in our workforce and management team as a great strength and opportunity. In order to be able to support all employees accordingly, we have a representative body for severely disabled employees and a youth and trainee representative body, for example. 

We specifically promote young talent and take part in the annual Girls' Day, for example, to get schoolgirls interested in the skilled trades and increase the proportion of women in our workforce in the long term.

Practical training at Hanse Haus

Our homeowners should also be able to rely on the proven Hanse Haus quality in the future. That is why our trainees play such an important role in our company. We currently have around 60 trainees in 10 different training programmes. 

The company's own apprentice workshop provides comprehensive expertise and promotes teamwork. We strive for a 100 per cent retention rate for our trainees, which we have always been able to achieve.

Hanse Haus was founded almost 100 years ago in Lübeck-Travemünde on the Baltic Sea. Since our company founder Hermann Wandke discovered the Bavarian Rhön while travelling in 1962, the company is now based in Oberleichtersbach in Lower Franconia.

As one of the largest employers in the district of Bad Kissingen, we are aware of our responsibility. It is also important to us to support local communities, sports clubs, music societies and events in the area. 

Our trainees are also happy to receive enquiries from the region that involve creative challenges: Customised benches for the primary school or seven free-standing stands for the beehives of the beekeeping association? No problem!
